A man with a Killer's face (Orig. title: Tappajan näköinen mies) is Matti Rönkä's first book in the series about detective Viktor Kärppä.In this first book, Kärppä is hired by a man who wants him to find his missing wife. This will be the beginning of a series of adventures for Karppä in an underwolrd made of drugs, criminality, Russian KGB and much more.
One of the most interesting aspects in Matti Rönkä's writing is the political and social focus in his novels, as well as the unicity of chosing Helsinki, Russia and Baltic countries, something quite unexplored in crime literature.
In this crime novel, written in a sarcastic and humoristic style, Matti Rönkä shows that Finnish crime novels can be as intriguing as other Scandinavian crime novels, but with a sarcastic and humoristic touch that makes them unique.
This novel has been shortlisted in the Deutscher Krimi Preis and has been translated to many countries, like Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
